Stressing over before result is released

Anxiety is the common negative emotion before result is released.

DSE candidates may worry that their results do not match up to the expectations of their parents, significant others or their own.

They may catastrophize the negative consequences.

They may have thoughts like, “I will ruin my future if I cannot achieve certain grades or get into a particular programme.”

Even if some candidates have already prepared well, they will inevitably feel unsettled when the result is not yet released. Sometimes candidates may mull over their plans and worry about possible negative consequences.

Sometimes they may keep ruminating about their performance in DSE examination. These uncertain factors are sources of anxiety.
