「全校園健康計劃」是按照世界衞生組織(世衞) 及聯合國教育、科學及文化組織(聯合國教科文) 所倡議的《健康促進學校框架》為藍本,在香港本地中學及小學所推行的健康校園計劃,期望透過學校各成員通力合作,令校園成為一個有益於生活、學習及工作的健康環境。
學校是有效及廣泛地推廣健康的地方。建構健康促進學校可讓學生從小掌握健康生活知識及技能,造就長遠健康福祉。師生也可將學習經驗帶給家庭成員及社區,讓更多人從中獲益。將學校締造成健康的工作間,亦能提升教職員的身心狀態。
教育與健康於個人成長中至為重要,並相輔相成。研究顯示學生體能活動量及健康飲食習慣與學業表現有密切關係,前者尤其可提升數學及閱讀能力1。擁有健康體魄作基礎,學生能更有效地學習,並在學業上不斷求進。
